Founded by Conquistador Diego Velazquez in 1514, Trinidad romantic atmosphere mixes with its slavery colonial past, unique architecture, and maze of narrow cobblestone streets.

The old town architecture is Neo Classical and Baroque, with a Moorish flavour. Red tile roofed houses are painted on pastel colours, ornamented with artistic balconies, iron wrought railings and multicolor facades.
